Coherent laser spectroscopy of transient molecules and free radicals

چکیده
Recent years have witnessed great advances in the study of molecular spectroscopy and dynamics using coherent laser spectroscopy. In this article, we review recent work from our laboratory concerning the application of coherent laser techniques such as polarization quantum beat spectroscopy and transient laser induced grating spectroscopy to the study of transient molecules and free radicals. Highlighted systems include CN, OH and OD, NO2, and HCF.

HIGH RESOLUTION LASER SPECTROSCOPY IN COLD SUPERSONIC MOLECULAR BEAMS COOLING, REDUCTION OF DOPPLER WIDTH AND APPLICATION
The cooling of molecules during the adiabatic expansion of supersonic seeded molecular beams is reviewed and illustrated by the example of NO -molecules. The reduction of the Doppler width by collimation of the beam and the cooling to low rotational temperatures brings a significant simplification of the complex NO -absorption spectrum and allows its assignment. The measured rotational tem...
متن کاملDoppler-free laser spectroscopy of buffer-gas- cooled molecular radicals
We demonstrate Doppler-free saturated absorption spectroscopy of cold molecular radicals formed by laser ablation inside a cryogenic buffer gas cell. By lowering the temperature, congested regions of the spectrum can be simplified, and by using different temperatures for different regions of the spectrum a wide range of rotational states can be studied optimally. We use the technique to study t...
متن کاملEffects of cold atmospheric plasma on viability of breast (MDA-MB-231) and cervical (Hela) cancer cells
Introduction: There are many reports published about the use of cold atmospheric plasma in cancer treatment recently. In this way, the selective effects of cold plasma on the breast (MDA-MB-231) and cervical (Hela) cancer cells were studied as a new cancer treatment method. Materials and Methods: In this study, cold atmospheric pressure plasma was generated using a plasma jet reactor and also o...
متن کاملCoherent nonlinear spectroscopy: from femtosecond dynamics to control.
This review focuses on the study of the dynamics of isolated molecules and their control using coherent nonlinear spectroscopic methods. Emphasis is placed on topics such as bound-to-free excitation and the study of concerted elimination reactions, free-to-bound excitation and the study of bimolecular reactions, and bound-to-bound excitation and the study of intramolecular rovibrational dynamic...
متن کاملAttosecond Transient Absorption Spectroscopy
Motion in the microcosm unfolds via the formation of wavepackets, resulting from a coherent superposition of quantum states. Pioneered by A. H. Zewail, nuclear motion in (bio-)molecules as well as the formation and rupture of chemical bonds have been accessed extensively by femtosecond (1 fs = 10 seconds) pump-probe spectroscopy. For these outstanding experiments, A. H. Zewail was awarded the N...
